ChE 341 Thermodynamics of chemical engineering
Course Description:
This course focuses on Heat Effects, Thermodynamic properties of pure fluids, Vapor/liquid equilibrium (VLE): Fundamentals, VLE from K-value correlations, Solution thermodynamics Theory, Partial molar properties, Fugacity and fugacity coefficient of pure species and in a solution, Generalized correlations for thermodynamic functions (charts), and Chemical reaction equilibria.
Course Outline:
Topic 1: main laws of thermodynamics. Topic 2: thermodynamic properties of pure gases. Topic 3: introduction to vapor-liquid equilibrium. Topic 4: fundamentals of solution thermodynamics. Topic 5: analytical and graphical solution of partial molar properties. Topic 6: liquid-liquid phase equilibrium.
