Applied mathematics for chemical engineer
Course Description:
This course includes the introduction to modelling, heat and mass transfer, the solution of the ODEs, the first order and the second order, the solution of the partial differential equations by using the separation of variables methods, the solution of the finite several equations and their applications for the stage-wise processes.
Course Outline:
Chapter one: formulation of physicochemical problems. Chapter two: solution techniques for models yielding ordinary differential equations. Chapter three: series solution methods and special functions. Chapter five: staged-process models (the calculus of finite difference). Text book: Applied Mathematics and Modeling for Chemical Engineers, 2nd Edition. (Richard G. Rice, Duong D. Do).
